      主要从事沉积学教学与科研工作。2002年获成都理工大学“古生物学与地层学”(沉积地质学方向)博士学位,2003年进入南京大学地球科学与工程学院任教。先后在意大利马尔理工大学、英国爱丁堡大学从事博士后和访问学者研究。现任南京大学地球科学与工程学院岩矿教研室主任,《Sedimentology》、《Arabian Journal of Geosciences》副主编、《中国科学:地球科学》中英文版编委、《石油实验地质》、《沉积学报》、《地质学刊》编委、《地学前缘》助理编委先后任国际地球科学计划(IGCP)第739项目(2021-2025)第一负责人、第494项目(2004-2006,青年科学家项目)第一负责人,第609项目(2013-2018)共同负责人,SEPM中国大使。

  

        近年来,通过地层-沉积学方法,对亚洲-印度大陆初始碰撞、新特提斯洋演化及青藏高原沉积盆地演化等热点问题开展了系统性的研究工作,在“印度-亚洲大陆碰撞”、“白垩纪大洋红层”等方面取得重大的研究成果。

  

  先后荣获国家领军人才(2017)、科技部中青年科技创新领军人才(2016)、国家杰出青年基金项目(2015)、中国矿物岩石地球化学学会“侯德封奖”(2012)等。以第一作者和通讯作者在国外重要地球科学学术刊物上发表SCI论文50余篇,其中包括Geology, EPSL, Earth - Science Reviews、JGR-Solid Earth、GSA Bulletin、Basin Research等。
