The 1st International Conference on Eco-geology and Environment (EGE2023) was held in Chengdu from October 27th to 31st, 2023, with the theme of Challenges and Opportunities of Eco-geology and Environment from an Interdisciplinary Perspective. Professor Tang Chaosheng, Associate Professor Pan Xiaohua and Shen Zhengtao attended the seminar.
The conference focused on a new interdisciplinary discipline, eco-geology and environment, which studies the relationship between human systems and natural ecological environments and socio-economic systems, using the geological environment as an entry point. In recent years, the contradiction between economic development and environmental quality has become increasingly intensified, and environmental pollution and ecological crisis have become a global problem. Systematic interdisciplinary research, including ecology, geology, geochemistry, environmental chemistry, hydrology, etc., is an important way to solve current environmental problems and build ecological civilization. The conference was held to strengthen academic exchanges in multidisciplinary fields and promote disciplinary development and practical applications.
At the conference, Professor Tang Chaosheng gave a keynote presentation titled “Extreme climate engineering geology and its ecological environment effect”

Through this meeting, our center showed the major research achievements in recent years and had in-depth exchanges with peers on the latest progress of eco-geological environment, which helped the research group to achieve higher levels of research outcomes in this field.
