Dr. Cheng-Cheng Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geoengineering at Nanjing University, China, and Associate Director of the university-wide Center for Engineering Monitoring with Opto-Electronic Sensing. His research focuses on geo-infrastructural sensing and assessment, specializing in the application of fiber-optic sensing technologies to monitor critical infrastructure like tunnels and pipelines under the influence of ground instability and geohazards. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring. Dr. Zhang is a recipient of the prestigious Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program from the China Association for Science and Technology and the Gu Dezhen Young Talent Award from the Engineering Geology Committee of the Geological Society of China.
