Personal Profile

Wang Guoguang, born in 1983, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University. His specialty is in ore deposit geology, with research interests in geological fluids and ore-forming processes. He graduated with a Ph.D. in July 2013 and stayed at the university, being appointed as an associate professor in July 2016.

He serves as a director of the Youth Geoscience Forum Council, secretary of the Geochemistry and Ore Deposit Branch of the School, vice-chairman of the Structural Geophysical Chemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society, a member of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, academic secretary of the State Key Laboratory of Endogenic Metal Deposits, an editorial board member of Mineral Deposits, Review Editor for the journal Frontiers in Earth Science, and a young editorial board member of Gold Science and Technology.

He has led two general projects and one youth project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, three special projects of the National Key R&D Program, and one project of the China Geological Survey Bureau's integrated exploration area.

He has established a new model for continental refabrication and multi-stage copper-gold ore formation in the Qinling-Hangzhou belt, and the related research results have been successfully applied to mineral exploration. He focuses on the study of supercritical fluid ore-forming processes and the mechanisms of massive metal accumulation in super-large ore deposits, with research subjects including the Shapinggou porphyry molybdenum deposit and the Jiajika pegmatite-type lithium deposit.
