Dr. Xiao-Hua Pan is currently a doctoral supervisor and associate professor at School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University, China. He received his Ph.D. from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014 and was a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2016 to 2020. He is the recipient of the Excellent Young Scientist Overseas Project. His research interests include microbial engineering geology and environmental rock mechanics. He serves as a council member and deputy secretary general of Geological and Geotechnical Engineering Intelligent Monitoring Division and Engineering Geomechanics Division of China Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME). His research interests include the restoration, protection of stone cultural relics and ancient sites, leakage control with toughness strategy and durability improvement of surrounding rocks of underground storage, and ecological prevention and control of geological disasters.
