Chen Chen
Personal ProfileChen Chen is a Research Fellow and Assistant Professor at Nanjing University, and a Taishan Young Scholar. His research focuses on critical metal cycling and ore-forming processes from an Earth system science perspective. He proposes that subducted materials contribute minimally to lithium enrichment in arc magmas, emphasizing instead the critical role of crustal thickening on rare metal resource endowment. His work systematically investigates the enrichment and transfer pathways of lithium across subduction zones, continental crust, plateau brine systems, and orogenic pegmatites. His findings have been published in Nature Communications, Nature Geoscience, and related journals. He currently serves as a Young Editorial Board Member of The Innovation and Bulletin of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, and as Guest Editor for the Lithium Resources Special Issue in Ore Geology Reviews. He is the principal investigator of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including General and Young Scientist grants, as well as the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Special Research Assistant Program. Prospective students and collaborators are welcome to get in touch for early discussions and future planning. ?
