We would like to invite you to participate in the 5th meeting of the ACROFI (Asian Current Research on Fluid Inclusions) to be held in Xi'an. Xi'an is the center of politics, culture, economy, science, technology, and information, education communication of northwest China. It is a unique place, having many historical and modern cultural sites and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
ACROFI will continue to hold its biennial conference with an aim of providing an international forum for exchange of latest research results and ideas between geoscientists from academy, government and industry from Asian countries and other nations focusing on studies of fluid- and silicate-melt inclusions. Students are also expected and encouraged to come to the meeting. The conference will run for 3 days from the 16th to 18th of May, 2014 in Xi’an. Two-day fieldtrip will be arranged after meeting (19th-20th of May, 2014) in the geologically and culturally interesting region. Prior to the conference short course “Fluids in the Earth” will run from 10th to 14th of May in Nanjing.
The conference will feature several oral and poster thematic sections. The oral presentations will have the usual format of 15 minute-talks followed by 5 minutes of discussion (slots of 30 minutes will be allocated to invited talks). Informal discussions are encouraged during receptions, tea and coffee breaks, poster sessions, and other events.
The official language of the meeting is English.
